    Caption Competition Returns (Historical Edition)

Here's the welcome return of the caption competition challenge , this time like Huey Lewis & The News we are going Back in Time. The following image was found from our pre-1914 series of historical images, taken from our substantial Flight archives.

The best caption will win (drum roll please..........) and exclusive and extremely stylish AirSpace pen.

May the force be with you!

.....Seemingly unscathed, and apparently rather proud, A.V. Roe stands beside his crashed Avro No.1 Triplane at Wembly, 24 December 1910 after attempting a turn. He was greatly handicapped in his experiments by lack of funds, which resulted in lack of power for his triplane. He persevered and became one of the most powerful influences in British aviation .....

    Lack of funds ?

Ask the Vulcan restoration team's advice .....

Once again Roe, port is left, starboard is right, or was it the other way round?

Blast it Algy, I've broken the paddlethrusted-plano-lofti-craft again. Maybe it needs another wing?

I don't care how often he says "Heavier-Than-Air flight is the Future" I'd rather fly by R101.

Oh, Bother! Very well then... Send a communication at once back to the Civil Aviation Authority informing them that redundant wings only aid in flight when equal numbers of matched pairs on both sides of the aeroplane are utilized. How is it possible that any ruling agency has the ability to adequately specify the number of strands of cable used on a toilet dump valve, and yet over-look a major detail such as equilateral wing placement? We also need to re-visit our Landing Gear Engineering Design Criteria while we are at it. Solved by two Bicycle Mechanics? Outstanding!
