1985 Corporal Frank Scott Drive, College Park, MD 20740The museum is open daily from 10am to 5pm, except major holidays. I visited College Park Aviation Museum in 2003 on while on my way to collect information for the Boeing F/A-18F cutaway. Affiliate to Smithsonian Institution, this small but very interesting museum is located on the grounds of the world's oldest continuously operating airport, which was established in 1909 by Wilbur Wright in order to give flight instruction to the first military aviators how to fly.  A real oddity for aviation enthusiasts has got to be the Berliner Helicopter, of which I have attached several photos. While the name of Henry Berliner is associated with the Ercoupe, two of which can be seen at the museum, his father’s name Emile is strongly associated with vertical flight. The Berliner Helicopter (No5) - on display is on loan from the Smithsonian's National Air and Space Museum - represents the pinnacle of his experiments into rotary-wing flight. Flowing over 20 years of experiments, Emile displayed his “helicopter” to U.S. officials and the media on the 24th February 1924 and hovered up to a height of 15ft and later translated into a forward flight. Aircraft on display are – 1910 Wright Model B (reproduction)1912 Blériot XI (reproduction)1916 Curtiss JN-4D "Jenny" 1924 Berliner Helicopter No.51932 Monocoupe 110 N123451936 Taylor J-2 "Cub" NC167691939 Taylorcraft BL-65 N23624 1940 Aeronca 65LA "Chief" N263051941 Boeing A75N1/PT-17 "Stearman" N8NP1946 Ercoupe 415C, N991821946 Ercoupe 415D NC93942  This is a very interesting museum that can easily be reached via the Green line Metro from Washington DC and is well worth a visit. Museum details can be found at:http://www.pgparks.com/places/historic/cpam/index.html
