That remarkable day was sixty-four years ago. I don't know why but I've always loved black and white pictures of aircraft with invasion stripes -

I'm sat in a factory in Normandy and was passed by a WW2 US Army Dodge this morning on my way to work. I've been straining all day for the sound of a Merlin or two...., but not heard anything yet.
