David Talichet and Chino, California are synonymous. It could be said that the Talichet collection / Military Aircraft Restoration Group (MARC) was the largest civilian owned collection of ex-military aircraft in the world, having more aircraft than some countries air forces operate. It is thanks to him that so many of the warbirds we see around the airshows today ever survived.

I will never forget the day I was permitted to wander around the MARC storage yard at Chino. Lying unceremoniously in various piles were the recognisable cockpits and fuselages of Bolingbrokes, Aircobras, Sea Fury, Invader, Gnats/Ajeets, and a Havoc.

RIP

Is there anybody out there?
