Air travel was an adventure: slow, expensive, ¿safe?, ... Untill the arrival of the DC-3.
The II WW, saw the DC-3 built by thousands, and after the war it found its way in many airlines all over the world. Still today many of them are flying and making money for their owners.
Civil or military my vote is for the mighty DC-3
i agree that althought the dc-3 was built in 1935 it is still a great airplane and many are used for frieght work even up here in canada flying to places other aircraft can't fly into this is a testament to the durability of the airframe.
