Dubai International Airport has recruited thousands of volunteers to take part in advanced passengers trials at its purpose built A380 facility.Construction of Concourse A is nearing completion and Dubai Airports has been conducting a series of tests to ensure a smooth opening of the new facility next year.
The trials will culminate in mock passenger tests which will simulate the full operation of the new facility –everything other than the boarding an aircraft.Volunteers will be asked to carry out numerous scripted scenarios from checking in, to sampling new food and beverage facilities, to connecting to another simulated flight. The trials will provide Dubai Airports with valuable feedback, which will allow the airport operator to address any problem areas before the concourse opens to the public. The exercise will also give volunteers the opportunity to get a sneak preview of the new home of the A380.Participants will receive a 10% discount on selected items at Dubai Duty Free outlets in the Arrivals Hall of Terminal 3.Chris Garton, SVP Operations at Dubai Airports, said: "We have always maintained that we will only open the facility once we are satisfied that every system, person and process is ready. "The trials programme is designed to highlight potential problem areas and get us to a state of readiness. The advanced passenger trials give us an opportunity to identify areas where we can improve before we open for business. "To achieve this we need our loyal customers to assist us by offering their time as volunteer passengers."Source: Airportworld
