Etihad Airways and Air France are adding codeshare destinations this summer in Africa, Asia, Australia and Europe.Adding to current codeshares to Bordeaux, Copenhagen, Madrid, Nice and Toulouse, Etihad now aims to place its EY code on Air France flights from Paris-CDG to Oslo and Stockholm.
Subject to regulatory approval, Etihad also expects to codeshare on Air France flights between Paris-CDG, Lisbon and Marseille. Meanwhile, Air France will put its AF code on daily Etihad flights from Abu Dhabi to Khartoum, Melbourne and Sydney. The French flag-carrier also aims to place its code on Etihad services between Singapore and Brisbane. Subject to regulatory approval, it would also codeshare on Etihad’s route between Abu Dhabi and Kathmandu. Air France already codeshares on Etihad flights between Paris-CDG and Abu Dhabi, and onwards to Colombo, Mahé and Male. The codeshare expansion follows a strategic tie-up between the carriers in October. Etihad now operates 43 codeshares with other carriers. The Abu Dhabi-based airline has recently announced codeshares with Air Canada and Air Seychelles as well as an agreement to take a 24% share in Indian carrier Jet Airways.Source: routesnews, Piers Evans
