This 1/9th scale radio-controlled C-17 model was built in the United Kingdom. To date it has about 20 flights. It was built as the centerpiece of a 15 program television series produced in the U.K. for the Home and Leisure satellite TV channel. 2 x Brand new AMT Olympus HP Electric start turbines power this model. All top spec Futaba Digital Servos and a brand new Futaba 9C Radio supplied (This was the set the model was flown on) with multiple Futaba 9Ch PCM Receivers, multiple high power NiCads. The model is supplied with all of the equipment that was flown with, inc the custom made trailer for transportation. Also included is the complete set of exemption paperwork from the CAA (UK Civil Aviation Authority) This is basically the models airworthiness certificate. This one off special model is possibly the largest radio controlled model aircraft flying today. It was custom designed and built for a Discovery channel documentary by a team of 4 specialist modelers. A DVD of the entire series is available. The model features fully operational cargo door (That can operate in the air), It even has a custom built land rover vehicle mounted in a scale cradle as per full size that can be parachute dropped whilst flying. Full scale twist and turn electric retracts. Pneumatically operated huge flaps. This really is a chance to own a very unique special model that will most probably never be bettered. I have seen this model fly on several occassions now, at radio control model airshows, and it never fails to impress. It is currently owned and flown by Ali Mashinchy Jnr who's family own a group of radio control model shops, and is up for sale for £25,000 on their website - www.alshobbies.com under his presteige model section. John.
