Farnborough 2008 - What are people looking forward to?

Okay so we know what is flying at Farnborough but what is everybody getting exciting about. For me it has to be the F22 on Monday, mixed with the DC6 and of course the VulcanBig Smile

I am quite intrigued by the Guy Westgate Glider Display too, as i have no idea what that is going to look like compared to all the other things on display!

I'm just hoping that the C-27 does a Khe Sanh approach.

The C-27J is always good value. I've seen it do a barrel roll before Ick!.

f-22 (or will there be three ...?) will be a treat.

Sorry, but I can't make it to Farnborough this year, but I will be going to RIAT on the Friday and Saturday. But, apart from the Farnborough airshow, what I always look forward to is the anticipated airliner order announcements. To start the excitement early, has anyone "in the know " out there any idea of any expected large airliner orders, or do you think that the massive rise in fuel price will curtail the usual large announcements this year? Look forward to any comments. John.

Was the C-27's approach Khe San style enough ? Smile

I was really impressed with it but after all that waiting it was the take-off that impressed me more! Not only did it shoot up in a way that amazed me but once it levelled out it kicked the rudder and seemed to slew round practically on the spot.

Not only was the take off cool, but the landing was also something. The shortest I've ever seen from a transport aircraft. Excellent display.Big Smile

Unfortunately from an enthusiasts point of view the overall show in terms of displays/static was a disappointment. If Farnborough is the only show people go to, then they will think it is good, but when you compare the displays/static with proper airshows like Fairford(when it isnt cancelled) and Waddington then it just doesnt stand up. The only thing that saves the show is the TAG business aviation side of it.

One big plus side though was the Barclays blades display team. They were just brilliant.
