VISITORSNot the most of inspiring of starts to the New Year, but at least we had one newcomer today - Aegean A320 SX-DVX (3829) on the Athens service.FLEET NEWS None today.ROUTE NEWSNone today.MISCELLANEOUS ITEMSWelcome to 2013, but before we move on, let's take a quick look back at the last month of 2012. It would be an understatement to say that December was disappointing. With a total of only 36 first visits it compared very unfavourably with December 2011 (58) & December 2010 (71) & was the lowest December total in the last thirteen years (which is as far back as my records go at present). This low figure may have been partly due to the lack of fog, ice & snow, which traditionally seem to give us a few extra December newcomers. The breakdown for the month was 20 airliners, 14 biz jets, one helicopter & one twin. Dealing first with the heavies from our scheduled carriers, Aegean & Air Berlin each supplied an A320, British A/W an A321 & the first of their B773s we have seen here. Ryanair provided three B738s with one example of each from Norwegian Air Shuttle & Thomson A/W. Emirates managed a B773, Icelandair two B752s & Virgin Atlantic an A333. On one-offs & charters we saw a Germania A319, Wizz Air A320 (diversion), Jet2 B733, Jet Time B737 & three Enter Air B734s. The more interesting of the biz jets were probably Citation 525A 9H-ALL & Lear 60 ES-III. The helicopter was a Manx registered S-76 & the twin was a UK registered twin Star. Thanks to Derek Malt for spotting the "deliberate mistake" in the LGW Review of 2012 that I posted earlier today - the Lufthansa CRJ7s were not LCY diversions, but were on the scheduled run from Frankfurt.Due tomorrow:B-6131 A332 eta 05.16 as CCA851 (third visit)ES-PVA Lear 60 eta 08.00 as VPC1012, etd 09.00 as VPC1013Regulars - AEE6LW/SX-DVZ, MLD833/ER-ECBNX flights - 1ZN/DYY, 32A/DYU, 36C/NGG (third visit), 51M/NIB, 5818/NOL CREDITSAlan Edwards, Steve Spence, Derek Malt, Mr Anon, Jethro, Skyliner, ATDB, Ming the Merciless & anybody else that I have forgotten.Happy spotting!
