VISITORS
Our first newcomer of the month was Citation 560XL EC-KOL (5088 ex VP-BSD, G-WCIN) of Aerotaxi Los Valles, which was a Farnborough diversion this morning inbound from Porto & which later departed to Torrejon. Lunchtime saw a first visit from THY B738 TC-JFG (29769). This takes the total number of different THY aircraft to visit Gatwick since this service began on 20/12 to 50 (1xA319, 10xA320, 24xA321 & 15xB738).

MISCELLANEOUS ITEMS
February was a fairly ordinary month for first visits with 51 compared to 63 last year (February 2011 was the first month to enjoy the "Air Berlin effect", so produced an unusually high total for that month). This February's total is in line with the average monthly figure for the last four years, which is 50 (or if you are being really picky 50.0833 recurring). Last month's breakdown was 38 airliners, 11 biz jets, one biz prop & one twin.
The majority of the airliners were from our regular carriers - three Ryanair B738s, three easyJet A320s, three Thomson B738s, an Air Berlin A319 & three B738s, a THY A319 along with three A320s, four A321s & seven B738s plus the final pair of Vietnam A/L B772s to visit us. More unusual were our first sight of a German A/F A319, a Hi-Fly A330, a pair of Blue1 B712s operating for Estonian Air, the Djibouti Government B762, a TUI Nederland B763, another former BA B752 on delivery to FedEx & a BA Cityflyer E170 on diversion from LCY.
The more interesting among the biz jets were a UK registered Phenom, a Turkish Citation 560XLS, a Slovak Falcon 2000 plus a Citation 510 & 560XLS from the neighbouring Czech Republic. The single biz prop was a German PC-12, while the twin was an Italian Avanti.
On 24/2, easyJet celebrated its 10th anniversary of Gatwick operations, begun with a Barcelona service, though the Swiss subsidiary had been operating into here for a long time before that.

Joining the register yesterday was CL605 G-LTSK (5872) for (surprise, surprise!) TAG Aviation at Farnborough, while leaving these shores will be Citation 680 G-SVSB (0094), which is to depart to the USA.

Some UK registered biz movements due tomorrow with thanks to John Creasey:
G-EHGW C550 (yet again) eta 16.25 as GOJ302A, etd 17.50
G-KALS BD100 eta 18.25 as MCE13A, etd 19.20
