VISITORS
An improved day for newcomers, starting with Windjet A319 EI-DVU (0660 ex F-GPMI) on the morning service from Forli. This was followed during the afternoon by easyJet's latest A320, G-EZTW (4250), on its delivery flight from Toulouse & one of the two new Air Europa EMB195s, EC-LCQ (19000303). The easyJet A320 promptly operated a Malaga rotation. Due later, also on its first visit, is Air Berlin B738 D-AHXG (35140) as BER0100, actually a TUIfly machine but operating in Air Berlin scheme.
For the first time that I can recall, we had three Air Baltic flights today.

FLEET NEWS
Croatia A/L A320 9A-CTM (0671) was ferried from Zagreb to Norwich today for painting prior to return to the lessor.
EasyJet A320 G-EZTW (4250) was delivered from Toulouse to Gatwick this afternoon.
Emirates B773 A6-EGA (38984) made its first flight yesterday.
Estonian Air B735 ES-ABP (27425 ex G-GFFI) eventually left LHR on delivery to Tallinn as ELL9001 this evening. The previously unidentified B735 ES-ABO is now known to be ex YL-BBA (24646) of Air Baltic.
Flyglobespan former B738 G-DLCH (30040), now registered to ILFC, was ferried from Belgrade to Manchester today for painting for a new operator.
Nouvelair A320 TS-INM (0246), which was ferried to Kemble on Tuesday, was reregistered to FGK Trafalgar Ltd today as M-ABCS.
Pegasus B738 TC-AAT (40872) left Boeing Field today as PGT904 on delivery to Istanbul via a tech stop at Toronto.
Thomas Cook A320s G-DHJZ (1965 ex C-FOJZ) & G-SUEW (1961 ex C-GUEW) were restored to the UK register on Tuesday, while B752 G-FCLD (28718 ex C-FULD) was restored yesterday.  

ROUTE NEWS
Olympic Air will not be operating to Gatwick this summer. Hopefully, flights will resume with the winter schedule.
Rossiya seems indeed to have closed down its Gatwick operation, with nothing showing for it on the flight schedules. Bring back all those old Aeroflot services that we used to see!

MISCELLANEOUS ITEMS
Another disappointing month with only 43 first visits in March compared to 58 in the same month last year. This takes the total newcomers for 1Q2010 to 129 compared to 159 in the same period last year. During March we saw 30 new airliners, 3 biz props & 10 biz jets make their first visits. Among the airliners, the most noteworthy were the Aviavilsa An-26 (LY-APN) & six Italian airliners carrying football fans (four Alitalia & two Livingston). Most of the others were new deliveries to our regular airlines - two Afriqiyah, two easyJet, one Onur Air, six Ryanair, three Norwegian & one Ukraine International. Of the GA movements, only Citation 510 EC-LCX sticks out.
On the airline front, we lost Olympic Air, for the summer at least, & Rossiya, but gained Windjet, while Air Transat & Bulgaria Air are back for the summer.
A new Legacy joining the UK register yesterday is G-SHSI (14501114) for (surprise! surprise!) TAG Aviation at Farnborough.
An Air Europa A332 is due to operate tomorrow morning's AEA1013, presumably to accommodate increased Easter traffic. There is also a Saga A/L flight from Dalaman showing as due at 08.25.
