Transavia. How fast news can become out-of-date. No sooner had I posted the Transavia fleet list than I received news that B738 PH-HZA (28373) flew its last revenue service yesterday as TRA944 from Dalaman to Amsterdam. It was ferried to Prague today as TRA059 prior to return to the lessor. Both PH-HZB (28374) & PH-HZC (28375) will also be withdrawn before the end of the year.

    MISCELLANEOUS ITEMS
October saw 41 newcomers make their way to Gatwick. While well up on the previous month's disastrous total of 25, it was still slightly down on the 45 that visited in October 2008, but takes the total for the year close to the 500 mark. These broke down to 26 airliners, 13 biz jets one helicopter & a TBM850. New deliveries helped the airliner total, with a further 3 easyJet A319s, the Astraeus A320, the third Afriqiyah A332 plus the latest TAP A320, Norwegian B738 & Emirates B773 helping to swell the numbers. Also of interest was a pair of MD-80s in the shape of Bulgaria Air Charter's LZ-LDR & Sky Express example SX-BLL along with Air Berlin A332 D-ALPI. Other airliners catching the eye were a couple of Belavia newcomers, CRJ2 EW-276PJ & B735 EW-290PA, while Koral Blue sent in their two A320s. A further military C-130 was 84006 from the Swedish A/F, the other 5 new ones this year having all been RAF examples. A new airline for us was Olympic Air, resurrecting the old Olympic A/L service from Athens & already providing us with 3 different A320s, while Transavia restart into Gatwick tomorrow. We also caught up with the final Ryanair B738 that hadn't been to Gatwick, though this is not a situation that is going to last past next Friday! On the biz front, there was little of interest other than CL604 B-LBL & Premier EC-KHH.
