VISITORS
A very good start to November with five first visits today. Premier I-AFOI (RB-245) of Italfly arrived from Milan/Linate this morning & was followed by Icelandair B752 TF-FIZ (30052 ex EC-HIX) on the service from Reykjavik. Other morning newcomers were Dauphin G-CGGD (6435 ex N365NZ, N272NE) registered to Multiflight Ltd, possibly from its base at Leeds/Bradford, & Flybe E175 G-FBJE (17000336) on a flight from Jersey & which operated from there to Gatwick twice more during the day. It is thought that the Dauphin may have brought in the passengers for the USAF C-37B. A lunchtime newcomer was VistaJet Lear 60 OE-GVP (407) from Warsaw.

FLEET NEWS
Air Berlin. Despite it having operated both Nuremberg services yesterday, we won't be seeing A319 D-ABGO (3689) again. It was ferried to Hamburg this morning & then to Vienna for Niki with whom it will become OE-LOD. D-ABGP (3712) was ferried from Dusseldorf to Vienna today, also for Niki, & is to become OE-LOC.
Flybe. Correcting yesterday, E145 G-EMBX (145573) was ferried to Biggin Hill for painting yesterday as it had lost its slot at Bournemouth. G-EMBW (145546) is to follow.
Virgin Atlantic A346 G-VFOX (449) was ferried from LHR to Dublin yesterday for painting white prior to return to the lessor.

ROUTE NEWS
Norwegian Air Shuttle started a new evening service from Sandefjord today.

MISCELLANEOUS ITEMS
As always, the change to the winter schedule in late October saw some gains & some losses. On the debit side we lost Air One & Estonian Air. Stopping for the winter were Atlantic A/W, Lufthansa, Montenegro A/L & Rossiya, while Ryanair has dropped all its services except those from the Irish Republic. Strategic A/L lost the Olympic Holidays contract & promptly went out of business & Livingston is operating the few remaining flights. On the plus side, Aegean, Air Arabia Maroc, Gambia Bird & Icelandair all began new services, while Wow Air replaced Holidays Czech A/L on the Iceland Express run from Reykjavik. Aer Lingus also added a new route from Belfast/George Best giving us our first sight of their A319s.
It was another very good month for first visits with 58, compared to 44 in the same month last year. This broke down to 36 airliners (all either Airbuses or Boeings!), 19 biz jets & a single biz prop, helicopter & twin. Nine of the airliners were operating new services to Gatwick & comprised the Gambia Bird A319, both Aer Lingus A319s, an Air Arabia Maroc A320, Aegean A320 & A321 along with three Icelandair B752s. From our regular carriers came two Lufthansa A319s an A320 & A321, an EasyJet Swiss A319, Air Berlin A320 & B738, British A/W A320 & B772, a new easyJet A320, THY A321 & three B738s, Virgin Atlantic A346, the latest Norwegian B738 & an Emirates B773. Of the remainder, the one generating the most interest was the MAS B734, which diverted in en route to Kemble for storage. Others were an Alitalia A319 operating for Air One, a Livingston A320, which has taken over some of the routes previously operated by Strategic A/L, a VIA A320 for Wow Air, an Air Mediterranee A321, Jet2 B733, Transavia France B738 & a Travel Service Slovakia example, Ryan International B763 & our first glimpse of one of Caribbean A/L's own B763s.
Among the biz jets the most interesting were probably the two USAF Gulfstreams, while others included BD700 M-MNAA, Citation 510 OK-OBR, Citation 560XL S5-BDG, CL604 EC-JYT, & Lear 45 9H-BCP. The biz prop was a German TBM850 & the helicopter & twin were both British.

Having only joined the UK register on 12/10 for Hyperion Aviation of Luqa, Malta, BD700 G-OKKI (9336) was cancelled yesterday as transferred to Malta.

Due tomorrow:
CS-DXL Ce560XLS eta 07.55 NJE029T
D-ABFT A320 eta 19.25 as BER8598 (second visit)
D-IIVA Avanti eta 12.10 (third visit)
I-SEAS DA900 eta 15.15
