FLEET NEWS
British A/W B752 G-CPEL (24398) will be withdrawn from revenue service later this month once A320 G-TTOE (1540) has been delivered. B752 G-BPEC (24882) flew its last revenue service on 6/3 from Helsinki to LHR. It has been confirmed that FedEx will be the recipient of the remainder of BA's B752 fleet.
EasyJet A320 G-TTOE (1540) is due to move to British A/W later this month.
Flybe BAe 146 G-JEBA (E3181) was cancelled from the UK register yesterday & is destined for Star Peru. DHC-8 G-ECOP (4242) was delivered to Birmingham as BEE040 at lunchtime today.
Ryanair B738 EI-EBT (35000) was delivered to Dublin today, while both EI-EBV (35009) & EI-EBW (35010) made their first flights yesterday.
ROUTE NEWS
There have been too many seasonal flights starting this week for me to keep track of. Onur Air are back with a vengeance, KTHY restarted today, Bulgaria Air & Air Baltic made late afternoon/early evening appearances & Air Europa, Air Transat & Air Malta have increased their presence. On the debit side, Olympic A/L seems to have ceased operating to Gatwick again.
MISCELLANEOUS ITEMS
Back to normal today after the excitement of all those G20 visitors. An interesting bunch, even though I only needed 2116 & PK-GPE, & it was good to see Gatwick as the focal point for a large percentage of the attendees rather than losing out to some of London's other airports as we have usually done in the past. Most of the aircraft expected at Gatwick did indeed turn up &, in general, security & the police presence was unobtrusive (though the same can't be said for Stansted) & our pursuit of our hobby was largely unaffected.
