VISITORS
Today's only newcomer was easyJet A320 G-EZTF (3922) on delivery from Finkenwerder. Cimber Sterling B737 OY-MRG (28010) made its first appearance at Gatwick since its acquisition by the airline.
There was a potentially serious emergency this afternoon when Icelandair B752 TF-FIJ (25085) operating ICE543 from Paris/CDG to Keflavik diverted in reportedly with smoke in the cockpit & one engine out. The crew was given 26L as the landing runway rather than 08R, which was the runway in use at the time (luckily, the wind was calm).
FLEET NEWS
EasyJet B737 G-EZJN (30249) has had its winglets fitted & is currently inside the SRT hangar at Stansted in full Aires Colombia scheme & now carrying HK-4635. At Southend, G-EZJO (30244) was noted in full Aires Colombia scheme on 2/6 & is to become HK-4641. A320 G-EZTF (3922) was delivered to Gatwick from Finkenwerder this afternoon.
Nouvelair A320 TS-INP (1597) was noted at Madrid on Tuesday awaiting delivery. This was formerly with Iberworld as EC-KEN.
Thomas Cook A320 G-TCAD (2114) was noted at Madrid on 2/6 in full scheme but without registration prior to delivery. This aircraft was formerly with Vueling as EC-JDO.
Thomson A/W B738 G-FDZO (34691) was cancelled from the UK register yesterday & became CN-RPF. It left Luton this afternoon as JFU6119 on delivery to Jet4you. A320 G-OOPW (1777) was also cancelled yesterday & has become VQ-BCZ for Ural A/L.

MISCELLANEOUS ITEMS
Crown Prince Maha Vajiralongkorn is back in Europe, but has brought a different aircraft with him this time. This summer he is using B734 HS-CMV/55-555 & it arrived at Munich on 31/5. As he has visited LGW in both 2007 & 2008 with B734 HS-HRH/99-999, there must be a chance that he will be back again this year.
EasyJet's load factor in May was 83.5%, up 0.3% on last May's 83.2%, while Ryanair's was 81%, up 1% on last May's 80%.
