VISITORS
Today's first newcomer was E145 CE-03 (145526) from 21Sqdn/15Wing of the Belgian Air Component (as the Belgian A/F was renamed in 2002), which arrived from Brussels this morning & reappeared this afternoon. Making its first visit this evening was Citation 510 G-RNER (0409) of A Shade Greener Ltd, which arrived from Gamston.

Although it didn't land at Gatwick, mention has to be made of Spitfire T9C G-ILDA (CBAF/10164 ex SM520, SAAF, G-BXHZ), marked SM520/KJ-I which made a low pass over my house prior to doing a beat-up & victory roll down runway 26L this morning (though 08R was the runway in use at the time!). A shame I had no prior warning of its imminent arrival, as it would have given me time to get the camera out.
While Spitfires were not uncommon at the "old" Gatwick airport, particularly during & just after WWII, few have graced the current airport. Those that have were:
G-AISU Spitfire LFVb (CBAF/1061 ex AB910) of Vickers-Armstrong Ltd which passed through Gatwick on 07/08/60 en route to & from Orleans in company with Hurricane G-AMAU.
G-ASJV Spitfire LFIXb (CBAF IX552 ex MH434, KLU H-105, H-68, Belgian SM-41, OO-ARA) registered to Timothy Alfred Davies, which passed through Gatwick on 10/05/64 & then when registered to Adrian C Swire it appeared again on 16/07/80 as MH434 as part of a welcome ceremony for Cathay Pacific A/W.
G-LFIX Spitfire Tr9 (CBAF8463 ex ML407, IAC 162) owned by Carolyn S Grace, which arrived at Gatwick from Goodwood as ML407 on 15/07/90.
G-MKIV Spitfire FRXIV (6S/583887 ex NH749, Indian T3) owned by Keith & Alan Wickenden which passed through Gatwick as NH749 on 25/08/84.
OO-ARF Spitfire LFIXc (CBAF IX1886 ex MK923, KLU H-104, KLU H-61, Belg SM-37) which arrived by road from Biggin Hill on 15/11/63 & departed to the USA on Flying Tiger CL-44D N449T the following day.

FLEET NEWS
Emirates B773 A6-EGY (41080) left Paine Field yesterday on delivery to Dubai.
Norwegian Air Shuttle B738 LN-NGD (39049) left Boeing Field yesterday on delivery to Oslo.

ROUTE NEWS 
Flybe will terminate its service between Gatwick & Aberdeen from the start of the winter schedule. The flight is currently operated 19 times weekly by an E175.
