VISITORS
CL604 VP-BNP (5657) operated by Xclusive Jet Charter made a brief first visit this morning. The latest easyJet A320, G-EZTJ (3979), was delivered to Gatwick early this evening, later departing to Faro as EZY8920. This was followed by Citation 525 OM-OPR (0101 ex F-GPFC), which is operated by Opera Jet, while the day's fourth newcomer was Turkuaz Air A321 TC-TCF (0775 ex 6Y-JME). Just when I thought that was it for the day, Viking B733 SE-RHV (28567 ex PP-VPU, N567HE, PK-GGU) was delivered in from Southend this evening.
Finally, nine different Turkish registered airliners at Gatwick in one day must surely be a record.
FLEET NEWS
BMI A321 G-MEDU (3926) was delivered from Finkenwerder to LHR this evening as BMA9552.
British A/W. Not exactly a surprise but following the collapse of the premium market Flightglobal reports that BA is exploring the idea of selling a controlling share in OpenSkies. BA is currently looking to raise £600 million in cash to improve its liquidity.
EasyJet A320 G-EZTJ (3979) was delivered from Finkenwerder to Gatwick this evening.
Flybe DHC-8 G-FLBD (4259) should now be delivered to Birmingham on 1/8, while G-FLBE (????) is expected to be delivered to Exeter on 23/8. The predicted delivery date of 12/7 for G-FLBC (4257) has passed & I do not have a revised date, so treat these latest dates with caution. It is thought that G-FLBD/E along with G-ECOE (4212) are to be three of the four machines being wet-leased to Olympic A/L from August.
Rossiya A320 VQ-BDY (1657) was delivered from Madrid to St Petersburg yesterday. Originally with Iberworld as EC-ICK, this was then leased to Ryan International as EI-DIH, returned to Iberworld as EC-JND, leased to Go Air as VT-WAW & then returned again to Iberworld as EC-KBQ.
Viking B733 SE-RHV (28567) was delivered from Southend to Gatwick this evening.

MISCELLANEOUS ITEMS
The Manchester Airport Group (MAG) pulled out of the bidding for Gatwick Airport yesterday after failing to meet the BAA's asking price. MAG was the last remaining bidder, though previous bidders London City Airport, Global Infrastructure Partners & a Citigroup-led consortium remain interested in acquiring Gatwick, but not at the price being asked for by the BAA.
