VISITORS
THY A321 TC-JRT (4779) made a very welcome first visit at lunchtime today, launching the new daily service from Istanbul. An early evening newcomer was Hawker 900XP G-DLTC (HA-0035 ex P4-PET) of Hangar 8 Management, which arrived from Chambery. A further newcomer on the evening run from Madrid was Ryanair B738 EI-ESR (34995), the first of those that had been stored at Marana, AZ.

FLEET NEWS
British A/W A320 G-EUYN (4975) made its first flight today in full scheme as F-WWDT & was promptly ferried from Toulouse to Finkenwerder.
Norwegian Air Shuttle B738 LN-DYW (39010) arrived at Bergen on delivery today. LN-NOY (34919) has already made its first flight & allocations for next year include LN-DYX (39011), LN-DYY (39012), LN-NIA (39444) & LN-NOZ (39420).

ROUTE NEWS
AirAsia X. It is rumoured that the carrier is to drop its international routes to Gatwick, Paris, Mumbai & Delhi, perhaps as soon as February as these routes are losing money. More at:

Air Baltic is to maintain a daily service to Gatwick next summer rather than increase to 11 per week as it has in previous years.
THY began its daily Istanbul service today. Flights are due to be operated by A321s to start with & then a mix of aircraft including A320s & B738s. Plenty of scope for first visits here as the airline currently has 25xA320s (plus 2 leased out), 27xA321s (plus 16 on order) & 44xB738s (plus 10 leased out & 18 on order).
Ukraine International will increase its operation from Kiev from daily to 9 weekly from 6/7. The new flight will be AUI503 & is to be a B735 operation appearing on days 5 (eta 20.10) & 6 (eta 18.50).

MISCELLANEOUS ITEMS
Odyssey A/L is a "paper" airline that hopes to start business class only flights from LCY to New York with 10 recently ordered Bombardier CSeries aircraft in direct competition with the British A/W A318 operation. One advantage that the CSeries has over the A318 is that it would be able to make the westbound journey non-stop, obviating the need for a fuel stop in Ireland.
Due tomorrow:
CS-DRQ HS125 etd 11.35 as NJE630E (presumably due to arrive later this evening/tomorrow morning)
G-DLTC HS125 etd 11.50 as HGR894
