VISITORS
An eventful day in the London area. Firstly, Flybe DHC-8 G-JECL (4114), which was en route from Paris/CDG to Cardiff as BEE143G, diverted in to Gatwick due to smoke in the cabin & promptly evacuated its passengers on or near the runway. This resulted in the closure of the runway for around half an hour & diversions from Gatwick to various other airports in the area. Then, during the afternoon, inclement weather at Heathrow meant that three of its arrivals had to divert to Gatwick. One of these, Egypt Air B772 SU-GBR (28424), was on its first visit to us. The weather (thunderstorms) then moved down to the Gatwick area causing further delays & diversions. Judging from the delays to a lot of this evening's later inbounds, the storms must have affected a far larger area than just the southeast of England.
Slipping in apparently unnoticed on its first visit yesterday evening was Ryanair B738 EI-EBM (35002) on the RYR5568.
FLEET NEWS
Astraeus B752 G-STRW (24543) was reportedly delivered from Lasham to Manchester this afternoon, still in Zoom scheme. However, it returned to Lasham this evening, so perhaps was only on another air test?
EasyJet A320 G-EZTK (3991) was delivered from Finkenwerder to Manchester this afternoon. It had been destined for Gatwick, but was redirected to Manchester to operate a much-delayed Tenerife service. It is now expected to arrive at Gatwick as EZS8002 at 09.10 tomorrow.
Flybe EMB145 G-EMBJ (145134) was delivered from Exeter to Aberdeen for BMI Regional yesterday evening.
Rossiya A319 VQ-BAV (1743 ex N907FR) was due to leave Montreal/Mirabel today on delivery to St Petersburg.
Ryanair. Assuming that the schedules haven't changed, B738s EI-EFO (37539) & EI-EFP (37540) should be delivered to Dublin tomorrow. These will be the last two deliveries before September.
Ukraine International B738 UR-PSA (29658) left Boeing Field today on delivery to Kiev/Borispol.
