VISITORSAl-Naser A/L used its own B734 YI-AQS (25765 ex HL7228, N765TA, PP-VTO, N765TA, SX-BMD, N765TA) to Gatwick for the first time this morning on the service from Baghdad via Malmo. It was still displaying the Olympic callsign (OAL9415) on SBS that it used when it was ferried from Athens to the USA. Our second newcomer was CL604 N604MJ (5320 ex N605CC, HZ-AFA2) registered to WFBN, which arrived mid afternoon from Riyadh.FLEET NEWSAir Berlin B738 D-ABKV (36883) has been rolled out at Renton. Adding to Tuesday's blog, A320 D-ALTE (1504) is being painted into Air Berlin scheme at Dublin prior to return to service. D-ABDA (2539) was ferried back from Dublin to Dusseldorf today prior to delivery to InterJet as XA-KNO.Thomsonfly. Further to Tuesday's roundup, the deal with bmiBaby has fallen through & B733 G-THON (28596) is being painted at Norwich for Precisionair of Tanzania.ROUTE NEWSAir Asia X. One of the forums is reporting that Air Asia X will move its services from Stansted to Gatwick in September (apparently it was announced to the handling agents today).Hong Kong A/L. The latest news is that the Hong Kong CAD has issued a route license for Hong Kong A/L to operate a twice-daily service to London commencing 31/01/12. The slots from Hong Kong have been issued, and the airline plans to operate A332s. Due to route capacity constraints the aircraft initially will be allow to only operate with 116 passengers (the aircraft are fitted with 283 seats). The flight numbers have already been issued, CRK863/CRK864 & CRK867/CRK868. The airline is still in negotiations with Gatwick, LHR & Stansted for slots, though I have heard that Gatwick remains favourite at the moment.Vietnam A/L. Although it has been pretty certain for some while, Vietnam A/L has confirmed that it will start services to Gatwick to Hanoi & Ho Chi Minh in December. MISCELLANEOUS ITEMSNobody can have failed to notice the mountain of orders for new aircraft placed during the Paris Air Show, with the A320neo the star of the show, having gained over 1,000 commitments since its launch six months ago. Among the manufacturers the clear winner at Paris was, by a distance, Airbus. The various orders, etc that I have seen announced over the last few days are listed below (includes one announced just before the show). In general, I have not attempted to differentiate between orders, converted options, commitments, LoIs, MoUs, tentative agreements, etc as some of the announcements have been a bit vague or even contradictory.AirbusAir Asia 200xA320neo (plus 100 options)ALAFCO 30xA320neo, 6xA359 ALC 50xA320neo, 1xA321, 11xA330Avianca-TACA 33xA320neo, 18xbasic A320Cathay Pacific 15xA333Cebu Pacific 60xA320neo, 7xbasic A320China Southern 30xbasic A320CIT Aerospace 50xA320neoGaruda 10xA320neo, 15xbasic A320GECAS 60xA320neo GoAir 72xA320neoIndigo 150xA320neo, 30xbasic A320Jet Blue 40xA320neo LAN 20xA320neo Republic 40xA319neo, 40xA320neoSAS 30xA320neoSaudi Arabian 4xA333 Skymark 2xA380TransAsia 6xA321neoUndisclosed 10xA380 (Hong Kong A/L?)ATRNordic Avn Cap 20xAT72BoeingAeroflot 8xB773ALC 24xB737, 5xB773, 4xB789Cathay Pacific 10xB773GECAS 8xB773MAS 10xB738MIAT Mongolian 2xB738, 1xB763 Norwegian 15xB738 (& confirmed 3xB787)Qatar A/W 6xB773 Undisclosed 17xB748i (15 for Hong Kong A/L & 2 for GECAS?)UT Air 33xB738, 7xB739BombardierKorean Air 30xCSeriesUndisclosed 26xCSeries(note the lack of orders for the DH8D & CRJ)EmbraerAir Astana 2xE190Sriwijaya Air 30xE190SukhoiBlue Panorama 12xSuperjet Due tomorrow:A6-ESH A319CJ etd 12.25 as SHJ01CS-DKC Gulf 550 etd 10.55 as NJE419KI-LUXO Gulf 550 eta 02.55, etd 03.25Regulars - NAX14X/LN-NOP, NAX512X/LN-NOX, NAX1302/LN-KKX, NAX1338/LN-KKW, NAX3510/LN-DYPCREDITS Malcolm Baldry, Martin Stephen, Nick Yeadon, John Creasey, Mr Anon, Jethro, Skyliner, ATDB, Rocky & anybody else that I have forgotten.
