Being a regular joker, he was ignored. A day or two later we night-stopped at Joliet south of Chicago. When reading the notices on the board, there was an interesting article about a mouse that downed a plane (PA18 from memory) after chewing through control cables. The sectors home to New York passed without incident.Opening up the aircraft a week later, the smell told its own story! We never found the mouse, but we did find 5 very young, very dead ones behind the padding near the rudder pedals. It took ages to get rid of that smell. We reckon the mother had climbed the rear tie-down ropes in Jackson while it was parked for a week, made a nest and given birth then probably left in search of food at North Platte or Omaha en route. It is probably good for us that she missed her flight out".Spanair will cease operations at midnight after Qatar A/W pulled out of takeover talks. Some for tomorrow:A6-EGK B773 eta 18.25 as UAE9A6-EGM B773 eta 11.55 as UAE15 (first visit)A6-EWB B77L eta 06.35 as UAE11D-CEFD Ce525B eta 09.10EC-KSM B744 eta 17.30 as PLM600P from Madrid, etd 09.30 as PLM001 on 29/1 to Montego BayN123DN B763 eta 05.20, etd 23.00 (second visit)TC-DLZ Ce560XLS eta 14.00 (first visit)VN-A149 B772 eta 05.46 as HVN141 CREDITSDave Broome, Stevee, Pete Bance, Dave Hewitt, Jon Wickenden, Ian Gawtrey, Graham Stevens, Laurie Berryman, Nick Yeadon, Mr Anon, Jethro, Skyliner, ATDB, Max Headroom & anybody else that I have forgotten.Happy spotting!
