VISITORS

A newcomer in the early hours was B737BBJ VP-BJJ (30330 ex N130QS, VP-BJB, HB-JGV, N888NB) registered to Avenir Bermuda (BBJ) Ltd.

Another first-timer was Centralwings B734 SP-LLL (25164), which used to be based at Gatwick with British A/W as G-BUHJ, before returning to lessor ILFC as N301LF & then moving to Air One as EI-CXJ. A bit of a mystery here as it was using the hex code that was thought to be allocated to SP-LLM, though the registration was read off by a reliable list member as SP-LLL.

Completing a trio of B737s making their first visits today was Norwegian Air Shuttle B733 LN-KHC (29265), previously with Deutsche BA as D-ADBU & then Aegean as SX-BGZ. In common with the bulk of the B733 fleet it did not carry a picture of a famous Norwegian on the tail, though the two B738s that visited recently did.

Surprise arrival this afternoon was Transavia B738 PH-HZO (34169) on only its second visit to Gatwick.

FLEET NEWS

Belavia has a B737 that I was unaware of & this time it is a B733 rather than a B735 (photographic evidence on the Net). The aircraft in question is EW-254PA (26294 ex N261LF & B-2928) & was noted at Frankfurt today using the hex code 510043.

Eurocypria B738 5B-DBW (30671) probably returned to the airline today following winter lease to Sunwing, since SBS picked up C-GLBW overflying this morning.

Norwegian Air Shuttle B738 LN-NOF (36809) left Boeing Field yesterday & should have arrived at Oslo via Keflavik today. The airline announced today that it is planning to reduce flights in an effort to counter escalating fuel costs, though no specific routes were mentioned.

SAS B738 LN-RRG (35708) also departed Boeing Field yesterday &, after a tech stop at Bodo, was due at Stockholm-Arlanda today. It remains to be seen whether this will be used by the SAS Norge operation.

ROUTE NEWS

None today.

MISCELLANEOUS ITEMS

* this aircraft is very confusing with its SBS transmissions & I intend to omit it from future reports as it always causes problems regarding whether it has arrived, left or just switched its SBS on while sitting on the ground.
