VISITORS
Aerosvit B734 UR-KIV (24686 ex 9M-MJH, EC-772, EC-FZZ, F-WQQJ, F-GQQJ) saved us from yet another blank day, operating the lunchtime service from Kiev. A second newcomer was Lufthansa A321 D-AIRC (0473), which operated the afternoon flight from Frankfurt. 

FLEET NEWS
Emirates B773 A6-EGX (35602) left Paine Field today on delivery to Dubai.
Norwegian Air Shuttle B738 LN-NGC (39016) arrived at Oslo on delivery today.
Virgin Atlantic A333 G-VGBR (1329) was delivered from Zurich to LHR this evening.

ROUTE NEWS 
US A/W is in merger discussions with American A/L. If this goes ahead, it would very possibly see the end of our last remaining service from the USA (the daily flight from Charlotte).

MISCELLANEOUS ITEMS
A new biz jet joining the UK register yesterday was BD700 G-GLBX (9120 ex N700FG, N887WS) for Finesse Executive Ltd.

A reminder that the Gatwick Aviation Society's slide show season starts again on 7/9. Venue is Conference Room 2 of the K2 Leisure Centre at Crawley & the shows start at 07.30. An admission charge of £3 applies to cover costs.
The first show is entitled "Shadows, Ansons and Jesus Christ Airlines" & will be given by Mike Draper. A fellow section editor of mine with BARG back in the early 1970s, Mike is well known for his very fascinating & well-researched book on the Biafran conflict, "Shadows - Airlift & Air War in Biafra & Nigeria 1967-70", a much read copy of which resides on by bookshelf. Mike will be giving a slide & video show on this, followed by a slide show of his involvement in the Avro Anson story, the Nigerian Air Force, the Biafran Air Force & the relief airlift. This will be followed by a showing of the international version of the "Jesus Christ Airlines" documentary. An evening not to be missed!
