VISITORSTwo more first visits to round off the year. THY continued an impressive run of first visits with A321 TC-JRC (2999) at lunchtime, while the other newcomer was Ryanair B738 EI-ESV (34993) on the late afternoon service from Dublin. On its second visit was Ce525A F-HASF.FLEET NEWSVirgin Atlantic. I am tempted to wonder whether somebody (not Virgin, I hasten to say) has been up to something dodgy here. You will recall that A343 G-VHOL (2) became M-YRGU & left Lourdes on 19/12 supposedly on delivery to Bangladeshi carrier Rajshahi Air. It appears, however, that it only got as far as Tehran & is to enter service with Iran Aseman A/L. ROUTE NEWSTHY seems to be sticking to using the exact aircraft types shown in the "Sabre" system, at least for all 12 flights flown so far. Neil Greatorex has kindly ploughed through the allocations for the next 3 months for us & here are the results:January - A321 all days except for an A320 on 20/1February - A321 on all days except for an A320 on 8/2 & 22/2 & B738 on 4/2, 11/2, 13/2, 17/2, 18/2 & 25/2March - A321 on all days except for an A320 on 20/3 & B738 on 3/3, 9/3, 12/3, 17/3 & 24/3 to 31/3 After this, it appears to be all B738s. MISCELLANEOUS ITEMSA few for tomorrow with thanks, as always, to Mr Anon:A7-AAM BD700 eta 13.40 as QAF006CS-DFV Ce560XLS eta 08.40 as NJE669MRegulars - DLH896/D-ABIO, TSC472/C-GITSNAX flights - 1306/DYC, 1316/NOX, 1340/DYT, 4451/DYH, 4457/NOW, 5818/DYLTime to say goodbye to a year that saw the five major producers (Airbus, ATR, Boeing, Bombardier & Embraer) deliver around 1300 new airliners & the launch of the A320neo & the B737max (so named in honour of Mad Max, of course). Airbus delivered its 7000th aircraft & Boeing its 7000th B737, while 69 A380s are now in airline service, but only 2 B787s have been delivered so far.WISHING YOU ALL A VERY HAPPY, HEALTHY & PROSPEROUS NEW YEARCREDITSNeil Greatorex, Robert Spillings, Ian Gawtrey, Matthew Livingstone, John Creasey, Neil Barnes, Andy Borrett, Mr Anon, Jethro, Skyliner, ATDB, Colin Baker & anybody else that I have forgotten.Happy spotting!
