Struggling Bahrain carrier Gulf Air is terminating three routes in a continued effort to stem its losses.

The airline, which operates 35 aircraft with the fleet mainly made up of Airbus 330-200s and 320-200s, will end services to Kathmandu, Dhaka and Colombo in February and March. This follows an announcement in December that services to Copenhagen and Rome were to end.

According to the Gulf Air Trade Union, the airline will is cutting 800 jobs as part of the price of a hoped-for government bailout. GATU fears job losses could eventually be as high as 1,800.
