EC-JOH A340-600 overruns the runway at Quito Airport after bursting tiers on landing. No casualties reported, the weather at the time was pretty grim with torrential rain.

Sources say that EC-JOH that ran off the runway in Quito back in November 2007 is a officially a complete write -off...hard to believe, the damage did not look that bad

The A340 suffered one or more tyre bursts on landing at Quito (UIO). The aircraft overran the runway and came to rest tilting to the left with nr.1 and 2 engines touching the ground.
