According to Cargonews Asia:

Iberia Lineas Aereas de Espana could walk away from a merger from British Airways (BA) if the UK pension regulator doesn't agree with what the two airlines have already outlined in a deal, the Spanish airline's chief executive said, Dow Jones reported.

At the sidelines of an International Air Transport Association event, Antonio Vazquez said the airline may be forced to "rethink everything" if the regulator doesn't approve the memorandum of understanding that the two airlines agreed earlier this year.

However, he said he remains confident that ring-fencing of the deal will still go through.

British Airways chief executive Willie Walsh said Unite, the union representing the firm's cabin crew, won't break the UK flag carrier.

Industrial action since March hasn't affected the brand and its customers remain loyal, he said.
