Local advice is that the Jet Airways was due to park on Stand 83L, that should make it easily viewable from the public footpath by the railway line at the back of the Terminal. Strong boots recommended.
The Jet Airways B737-800W VT-JGW has just been seen from the office window on approach to Birmingham at 13.55.Can't argue with that!
Also confirmed as landed is Il76 K2878 at Waddington about half an hour ago.

I'm told that the second transporter has now arrived at Waddington. Both IL-76's and the two IL-78's were parked on the field as of 13.20 this afternoon.

A bit more background information has come to light on the Indian Air Force deployment to Waddington. The actual flying appeared to start yesterday (Tuesday) with SU30s launching in the morning. The exercise, known as Indra Dhanush 07 will run to July 12th, when the tanker and a couple of Su30s will go to Fairford for the Air Tattoo, a flypast and practice display is planned for the Friday.
Up to 200 Indian Air Force personnel are involved in the deployment, the exercise is a follow up to a visit made by Tornados of 43 Squadron, RAF to India in October 2006. The aim of this visit is to share experiences of operating together.
A variety of aircraft will join in the exercise, the IAF are contributing 6 SU-30MKIs from 30 squadron, based at Pune, plus one IL 78 MIdas air tanker. RAF tornado fighters from 25 Squadron will be based at Waddington, and based E3D AWACS from Waddington will also participate. Other RAF aircraft, such as Coningsby Typhoons and Leeming Hawks are expected to join in.

Just as you think that this link may die-the next Indian Boeing 737-800s to be delivered to Air India Express have appeared on the radar!!
VT-AXR, c/n 36330 has already flown, on June 27th, so must be on its way to Birmingham very soon, and the next one, VT-AXT has also been reported as being out of the factory.

The latest Air India Express duly arrived at Birmingham today, Sunday, at approx 13.35. It arrived in very wet conditions, and parked on the 80 stands.
Registration is VT-AXR, and departure on delivery to India is early on Monday.
I saw in the news recently that Jet Airways are setting up a new European hub at Brussels, and it is now rumoured that the 737 deliveries could be routing through the Belgium airport instead of BHX. This would make sense due to the fact that dedicated facilities will now be available for the pilots there, but equally if they are staying with friends/relatives in Birmingham they may still prefer the UK stopover - fingers crossed that they do! (unless you are an enthusiast in Belgium, in which case you will be the lucky ones).
