Its always extremely sad to learn of a loss of an aircraft. But I find the circumstances of the loss of the jetpod prototype somewhat curious. Admitted I couldn't find too much information with regards to the aviation background of the pilot Michael Robert Dacre. But what I have been reading is somewhat concerning. Items such as "Passed CFD Testing" (huh?) and a lack of a flight plan for example.
From http://www.avcen.com/statement.htm "Mike had a dedicated passion to the project and as a world class aviator was extremely well respected in the world of aviation"
I was curious and trying to find out more about who Mike was - and what his experience in aviation was but have come up a blank.
Anyone got any pointers? I probably should post the question on the RAeS site as they seem to fill the pages of Aerospace with obtiuraries and dont like reporting the news.
Thanks
Rgds
