Kenya Airways has firmed up its order with Embraer for 10 E-190s plus options on a further 16 E-Jets.
The E-190s will be configured in a dual-class layout with 96 seats: 12 in business class and 84 in economy.
Deliveries will begin in the third quarter of 2012.
The 16 options can be used for either E-190s or other models within the E-Jet family.
Kenya Airways operates five E-170s and two E-190s under agreements with leasing companies. Three E-190s from a previous order have still to be delivered this year and in 2012.
The airline said the new aircraft will help it to achieve its goal of serving all African capital cities by the end of 2013.
