Vijay Mallya has bought a controlling stake in the Spyker Formula One team and plans to run it with an all-Indian theme. Indian suppliers, Indian drivers (that'll be both of them then! - who'll be testing?) and the national flag on the car.
Kingfisher has been a sponsor of the Toyota F1 team and it seems Mallya has caught the F1 'bug', also throwing one of the most lavish VIP parties ever seen during the Turkish Grand Prix weekend.
This team has something of a chequered recent past, having been known as Spyker, MF1, Midland, in recent years but with little success. Let's hope he's in it for the long-term.
He says he's not sure of a name just yet... Any suggestions?
