Hi Guy's,
I recently visited London City Airport and noticed that in the evening there were probably 7 or 8 bisiness jets arriving at the Jet Centre there with the registration pre-fix CS -
Most of these aircraft stayed overnight. But why so many and where do they actually come from?
Looking forward to hearing from you.
John.(Northampton).
Hi John,
Almost every CS- registered business jet that you see at airports around Europe belongs to Netjets Europe. They are a fractional ownership business, anyone with enough money can buy a share in a business jet that can be available any time to go anywhere. It can be used by people or companies that cannot justify the full cost of a business aircraft all to themselves. Other advantages include quick progress through security at airports and a highly confidential service, that is much valued by many users, such as pop stars, famous footballers(Beckhams etc.,) and business people on trips they wish to be secret. Netjets Europe are part of the even larger American company Netjets, owned by billionaire Warren Buffet.
Netjets Europe have a fleet of around 130 aircraft, this fleet is growing at the rate of 2/3 per month due to massive demand. They operate Falcon 2000s, Citation 550s, BAe 125s and Beech 400XPs, with a few Gulfstream IVs for long trips.
They can be seen at small airports such as Gloucester and Coventry, flocks of them can be seen at Luton, Stansted and London City. They follow events like cup finals, Wimbledon, horse racing and Grand Prix in numbers, as the rich and famous attend these events.
