Prospective Oneworld member Malaysia Airlines will begin A380 flights to London from July next year, as flagged up by industry website airlineroute.net.

The site confirmed that GDS and timetable displays show MAS operating its superjumbo between Kuala Lumpur and London Heathrow from July 2, 2012, and a quick look at the carrier’s website shows A380 reservations are now live.

MAS will initially operate the superjumbo three times-weekly on flights MH002 from KL, and MH003 from London, increasing to daily from August 15 next year.

It’s not yet clear whether this will be the launch route for the carrier’s A380 aircraft – recent reports have suggested MAS will take delivery of its first superjumbo in early 2012. The airline has a close relationship with Dutch carrier KLM, and it has been reported that MAS might launch its superjumbo on the KL-Amsterdam route.
