It was reported yesterday that a civilian helicopter had been shot down in Helmand province with six fatalities onboard and one on the ground. The AP are now saying that it was a Pecotox-Aeri Mi-26.
I believe an Mi-26 holds the unfortunate record for the most ever fatalities in a helicopter crash when a heavily overloaded one was shot down over Chechnya and crashed into a minefield, killing over 120 Russian troops.
