A packed Delta Airlines heading for Heathrow had to abandon take-off after a mouse was spotted running through the cabin, the Sun reports. Over 300 passengers were due to leave New York's JFK airport on Sunday, but the pilot refused to fly after the sighting, as the rodent could have caused catastrophe if it chewed through wires.

Passengers had to get off and wait three hours for a replacement plane, which eventually took off at midnight. One holidaymaker told the newspaper: ‘It is amazing that something as small as a mouse disrupted a transatlantic jet.’ A Delta Airways spokesman said the stoppage was ‘standard procedure’.
