Dear Sir,I fully appreciate enormous work in maintaining database for "jpAirlineFleets" actual and accurate.I understand that some misprints, like e.g. on p.115, cca 30th row, could occur:There is reggie CU-T1700 for TU-204-120SE of Cubana Cargo shown. Its real reggie is CU-C1700 (C=Cargo) - I've seen this aircraft personally, but I have no my own photo to proof that. See numerous photos on Airliners.net, e.g.:http://www.airliners.net/photo/Cubana-Cargo/Tupolev-Tu-204-100CE/1377897/&sid=8a82d62790aab137b80b5ca1a2267458CU-C1700 was shown PROPERLY with "CU-C" reggie in previous issue of "jp" (2008/09) !!!-----------------------------------------------------------------------------CU-C1703 was shown in previous issue as well. Now it is missing at all, despite that it was delivered to Cubana Cargo - see photo from SNN:http://www.planepictures.net/netshow.php?id=839770----------------------------------------------------------------------------Your system of sort order of aircraft listing - alphabetical by type is MORE COMFORTABLE than previously used Swiss BuchAir system of aircraft order - by MTOW (this was especially confusing between several 737 and MD-80 variants operated by an airline (like SAS)). There it took me sometimes longer time to find what I was looking for...My great thanks for this change !!!---------------------------------------------------------------------------I would like to notice to you several misprints in introductory section and in EXPLANATION OF ABBREVIATIONS - IT MAKES WRONG IMPRESSION, when EXPLANATION itself is with NUMEROUS MISPRINTS or SENDS a READER TO the WRONG PAGE !!!Page 2:County - properly: Country(Gvmt paragraph):if a least - if at least(Airline paraghaph):base of bases - base or bases(-remarks paragraph):use our list on page 4 - properly: ...on page iv (and that page has NO page designation at all).Last photopage:TuploevYakolev (twice) (while in airline listing there is proper Yakovlev)Page 745:2nd line:namess 3rd line:companeis -----------------------------------------------------Please read more carefully introductory text and explanatory notes to be without misprints!
Czech Republic listing has GREAT MISTAKE: Czech CAA aircraft are split among two lists: - Government/Corporate... (p.475) - Czechoslovak SLI...(p.477). All previous issues (up to jp2008/09) had proper entry: UCL-Urad pro civilni letectvi CR = CBA (Flight inspection division of UCL/CAA) (p.465 of jp2008/09)
Word-by-word-translation:(1st in English letters, then in proper Czech, last isw English translation):
Urad = Úřad = Office pro = pro = for civilni = civilní = civil letectvi = letectví = aviation Czechoslovak SLI came to end of existence in 1993, when Czechoslovakia was split into two independent countries (1.1.1993). SLI = Státní letecká inspekce = State Aviation Inspection.
I don't understand, why you had not used well cultivated DATABASE from 2008/09 Edition.
Instead, you introduced such elderly information!!!
--------------------------------------------------------------------------- This year, there is proper listing of "smartWings", low-cost subsidiary of TVS, independently (two B737-522s), while previous year they were under TVS entry. But Editorial team made another great mistake in TRAVEL SERVICE entry: YL-LCE and YL-LCF are missing, they are shown only under "YL- - SmartLynx" airline (p.648). YL-LCE has NO REMARK being operated for TVS ! HA-LKC and HA-LKD are shown under TVS Hungary entry on p.212, while previous year there were shown twice...(under HA- and OK-), as they fly often from PRG base as well. ------------------------------------------------------------------------------ INDOCHINA AIRLINES, which started operations with 2 B737-800s wet-leased from TVS, is NOT SHOWN in jp AirlineFleets 2009/10, despite that it started selling tickets 12.11.2008. The airline operates at present as well - they have active www.page. But one 737-800 is back in PRG for peak summer season. I donť know, which 1 or 2 B737s they operate now....
...and that is why I bought the newest "jpAirlineFleets" - to have up-to-date proper information..
----------------------------------------------------------------------------
Until previous issue, ROSSIYA entry was VERY PROPERLY SPLIT among TWO entries:
ROSSIYA Rossiiskie Avialinii (= commercial airline) and
ROSSIYA Special Flight Detachment (=non-commercial gvmt. fls).
This year, there is only one confusing entry.
----------------------------------------------------------------- E.g.:
RA-96012 and 16 IL-96-300PU:
These IL-96-300PUs were properly shown until previous issue as VIP 44 pax, "Presidential Aircraft" .
Now, they are shown without any special remark, configuration Y280.
Do you suppose, that Mr. Medvedev now uses ordinary tourist class configuration after he took Presidential office from Mr. Putin !??
My remark again: why you had not used good-old(=previous year)-database and somebody manually introduced unnecessary MISTAKES !!! (Technical misprint cannot change configuration from VIP44 to Y280).
I hope that the next issue will return to typical Swiss accuracy...(I am no Swiss-man, I am Czech).
I've found by chance some mistakes in the newest "JP"(see my two preceding Posts). So, as a Czech citizen, I made a more detailed look at "OK-" entry. I am so diappointed, becuase almost every entry is WRONG. Conclusion: I cannot trust entries for another countries, which I know less or haven't visited yet. I cannot understand, who took so much effort to include INTENTIONALLY MISTAKES into "JP" database. Preceding issue (2008/09) , the last prepared by BuchAir Team, had the following entries SHOWN PROPERLY, WITHOUT MISTAKE:
Gvmt aircraft:
OK-AAB A319-115 THIS REGGIE WAS NEVER USED - properly "2801"
Aero Vodochody operator entry COMPLETELY OMITTED. It still operates 3 out of 5 aircraft shown properly in "JP08/09":
OK-ALE, OK-EVA, OK-INA.
Silver Air DOESN'T OPERATE OK-UDS, but it has OK-WDC.
------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------
Saab-340s are split among CENTRAL CONNECT AIRLINES and JOB AIR. Preceding issue had shown properly 7 Saab340s with CentralConnectAL and no entry "Job-Air". There is a remark in CCA entry: "(Job Air s.r.o. dba)"
Now Saab-340s are split among these two entries. In reality, there is still one airline CCA operating them, most of them in Czech AL cs - this fact is not mentioned in "remarks" column !!!
Very funny is OK-CCD entry, which is shown both under CCA and Job Air:
CCA entry has a remark "lsf Job Air"
JOB AIR entry has a remark "lsf Central Connect Airlines" .
So-really, who is leasing OK-CCD from whom ?!?
-------------------------------------------------------------------------
Let410UVP OK-ASA was shown properly under "SkyDive and Air Service" until previous issue.
Now is shown under "VAN AIR", while official Czech CAA register shows it still with abovementioned operator!
---------------------------------------------------------------------------
Czech Airlines ATR-42-320 OK-VFI: its name is not mentioned in "remarks" column, despite that in previous issues it was shown properly: "Nebesky jezdec/SkyRider".
(Almost) Proper entry "POLICIE - Ceske republiky letecka sluzba" in previous "jp" was changed into:
"Czech Police - Ceske Republiky Letecka sluzba....".
While there was a minor spelling mistake in previous entry, now it is completely wrong, as official name (in Czech language and also translation into English) is still starting with the word "POLICIE...".
A look into foreign official registers shows also great deviations from entries in "jp2009/10".
I've written some in my previous two Posts.
Here one new example:
HB-IHR/IHS 757-2G5 are still (as of today) on swiss offcicial register, yet in "jp" these two 757s are shown under "D-", "Air Berlin" entry as "D-ABPA/ABPB".
------------------------------------------------------------------
Why very good practical tradition of showing TEST REGGIES in Italic was abandoned ??!
I am tired writing you all mistakes, as it takes much of my time and and I am not paid to do so, while "The Flight Research Team" IS PAID FOR THEIR JOB. They have no MORAL RIGHT TO THEIR SALARY for such MISERABLE WORK !!! Completely dissatisfied with this year's issue of "JP 2009/10"...
