MAI currently flies with A320s from Yangon (RGN) and Mandalay (MDL) to Bangkok (BKK), Singapore (SIN) and Kuala Lumpur (KUL). The new service will operate three times a week on an A319, according to the New Light of Myanmar. Leaving Yangon on Tuesdays, Thursdays and Sundays at 6.30am, the flight will arrive in Mandalay at 7.40am. From Mandalay, the service takes off at 2pm to land at 3.10pm. According to OAG, the new operation will compete with Air Mandalay, which flies ATR 72s twice daily; Air KBZ with a weekly ATR 72 service; Golden Myanmar Airlines with a daily A320 service; and Asian Wings Airways, which operates a twice-weekly ATR 72 flight.Source: routenews, Piers Evans
