    New-look A-10 'Shorthog'

The US Air Force has released a couple of images of the results of a wheels-up landing performed by the pilot of a Fairchild A-10 'Warthog' at Edwards AFB on 25 March.

Thankfully the pilot walked away from the incident unharmed. I like the unusual views of what could now be referred to as a 'Shorthog'!

In the high-res version of the first image (Found here) the aircraft's cannon appears to have taken quite a knock since it appears to be off its mountings and all of the barrels are pointing in different directions, could the landing have done that or is it likely a problem that happened beforehand, perhaps even contributing to the emergency landing?

Also, I bet the guy who had to put the chocks on it felt a right prat.

I love the fact that they've chocked the starboard main-wheel - wouldn't want it to roll away would we? Big Smile
