One of the last airworthy B720s bites the dust

N720H finally bit the dust in Phoenix, this was one of the last airworthy B720 msn 18384 bulit in 1961 started life with TWA and ended up being Honeywells Engines and Systems Flight Test aircraft....Sad to see her being broken up...pics here

Honeywell have replaced the B720 with a B757, N757WH msn 22194 ex G-JALC My Travel

The only other airworth example is the PWC test bed flown out of Montreal C-FETB

He who laughs last obviously has'nt heard the bad news.

Painful to watch, but interesting nonetheless.....

    How to scrap a (fully-functional) B720:

The lawyers at Honeywell should be shot for allowing this to happen.

This is very sad.It would of been nice if the aircraft had been donated to a musium {spelling}instead of beer cans.

A good landing is one you walk away from.

Perhaps a museum candidate but that costs money for space and upkeep.

It is a bit of history as a shorter-range version of the 707, supplanted by introduction of the 727. Rather like the later 747SP in the opposite range direction, an interim airplane design.
