I recently observed flights of a Predator B in the Ensenada, Baja California area, the flights started about 2 weeks ago. Does anyone have information regarding these UAVS in Mexico?

US Customs and Border Protection are operating Predator Bs, perhaps it's one of theirs checking the US/Mexico border? Though I'd have assumed they'd have stayed in US airspace rather than actually going into Mexico.

I checked with my binoculars and found that the predator has Mexican Air Force markings it appears locked and loaded as well.  Whom-ever is piloting is practicing touch and go's in daylight as well as during the night, I live very close to the airport with a clean line of site to the runway.  It's a great show.  The patroling area seems to be from the border and points south, not very far because it returns within a couple of hours.

I think this hardware is part of the Meridia agreement and is used to look for the movement of drugs as well as hunt for the most wanted in Mexico.

If you can do it without going to jail for 20 years, a pic would be great! A real scoop. I haven't been able to find any reference to Mexico being given or sold any UAVs, let alone the top of the heap - an MQ-1(B). Lots of info re the Aid Package itself, but not the makeup. Any idea of the missile type(s)?

There are old pilots and there are bold pilots, but there are very few old bold pilots.

There's certainly nothing on the arms sales notifications page of the Defence Security Cooperation Agency about any going to Mexico. If you take a look down the link you'll see announcements were made for the sales of Predators to the UK, Germany and Italy but no mention of Mexico.

I don't have a camera yet but I will soon. I want to post a video.  I thought this would be a scoop but I have emailed CNN and others but I have not recieved ANY response.  It's like Mexico is not on the radar of the Media at the moment.  I did a cursory check of the internet about whom might have this technology and Mexico was not on the list, although they are manufacturing a UAV of Israli design. (I think).

I do not have types of EXTRA gear on board because I only observed it once configured so.  I will walk over and check, I walk my dogs on the base everyday without being challenged.  Interesting huh!!!
