Conversation overheard on the VHF Guard [Emergency] frequency 121.5 MHz while flying from Europe to Dubai.

Iranian Air Defence: "Unknown Aircraft you are in Iranian airspace, identify yourself".

Aircraft: "This is a British Aircraft. I am in Iraqi airspace".

Air Defence: " You are in Iranian airspace. If you do not depart we will launch interceptor aircraft".

Aircraft: "This is a 'Royal Air Force GR4 Tornado Fighter'. Send'em up............I'll WAIT" !!!!

Iranian Air Defence: .....................Total SILENCE.

I am lucky if I remember to turn the camera on and remove the lens cap!!!!, but I have a go.

I've seen the same thing several times.  I live in the US so it's usually one of our planes that's referenced.  I'm attaching a link from 2008.  http://message.snopes.com/printthread.php?t=39907  the responses point out some of the inconsistencies with actual practice.
