     Considering that EGT margin is used as a gauge to HELP determine engine life I find that this is typical of EASA. How about a boroscope instead or some other NDT, but complete engine replacement!?

     I understand safety is essential to aircraft, and working in this business I see first hand the amount of regulation that keeps aircraft flying  safely. This however is a typical knee-jerk reaction by EASA yet again, right up there with the VHF AD for possible "Gaps" in communication.

    In this time of financial hardships to European Operators I find it hard to see how the EU States continue to let this kind of thing happen...
