Just a day after Taiwanese media reported China Airlines/CAL is set to orde 6 (not 7) Boeing 787s, which was involved with the political decisions, Taiwanese newspaper UDN (19JUL07) reports the 787 deal includes the ala-SIA 777/340 controversial clause: Boeing buying 6 A340 from China Airlines in exchange for CAL order 787.
The report quotes from unspecified source, but China Airlines blasted the report, calling the report first unveiled by Chinatimes (18JUL07) "non-sense", because the airline has not yet signed any orders. The airline further elaborates it is still studying the order between A350 and B787 which it doesn't have proper information from both sides yet.
