Trouble with the landing gear made this unfortunate Lockheed C-130 unservicable and beyond repair. The UK Air Force therefore decided to blow up the aircraft and destroy it entirely.

Looks like a C-130J to me??

I believe it to be C130J ZH876 which was hit by an improvised explosive device as it landed in Maysan province, Iraq.

That was one hell of an explostion and the footage was awsome!!

 "Trouble with the landing gear"!!!? If you notice, the A/c is canted to stbd as the result of the IED taking out the stbd LG. Declared Cat 5 in theatre since repairs beyond local capabilities.

There are old pilots and there are bold pilots, but there are very few old bold pilots.
