Further to the last posting regarding erosion of seat pitch.
The minimum seat pitch on aircraft is 28 inches as measured by the airlines, it should be increased to a minimum of 30 inches on short haul flights, 31 inches on medium haul flights (flights of 4 to 6 hours) and 33 inches on all flights over 6 hours.Currently some airlines operate to the absolute minimum giving cramped uncomfortable unpleasant flying conditions, it also has an impact on safety where larger passengers cannot leave their seats quickly or unaided in the event of an emergency thus putting fellow passengers in danger. This has become the new industry within an industry...extra charges. And we the paying passengers will pay for space that used to be in the ticket price but not any more. The carriers rush to create more revenue from extra charges will play out in the future, what will happen is for another forum to discuss.
