Soviet Proton rocket being prepared for the December 1, 1989 launch of the International (Russia, France, Denmark and Bulgaria) Astrophysics Observatory "GRANAT".

The original photo was published in the issue of Flight International dated 21-27 April, 1993 at page 22.
"This image shows a Proton rocket in the Baikonur cosmodrome's assembly and test hangar. It has been integrated with the payload it will launch, which is the multinational Granat astrophysical laboratory, a joint project between France, the USSR, Denmark and Bulgaria. The image is dated 29 November 1989."
