I am researching the colour scheme of Walrus W3085 which along with L2322 was on HMS Victorious at the end of WWII. They were known as "Darby & Joan" and Darby was lost (the crew were saved) on 10th August 1945 off Sendai Japan.

Darby has been depicted many times in Profile Publications #224 (1971), Squadron Signal "Fleet Air Arm", Warpaint Books "Walrus" Scale Aircraft Modelling July 2002 and decals for the Classic Airframe 1/48 Walrus kit but no photographs anywhere to confirm the markings and colour scheme!

This seems strange as why would all these publications etc. use art work for a Walrus without proof of details. I mean there must be many pictures they could have used why one that the are "guessing" at.

Can someone please come up with a photo!
