Thai Airways aims to fly an A380 into Heathrow once its fifth and sixth superjumbos are delivered, says its UK and Ireland general manager.
But Khun Wit Kitchathorn told Bloomberg a date could not be specified as delivery dates for the double-decker planes are uncertain. The A380s would replace one or two B747-400 services on the Bangkok-London route, although the Boeing plane’s flexibility for outsized cargo makes it likely to be retained on one service, he said. Speaking at an event to publicise the imminent return to service of the refurbished B747s, Thai’s deputy sales manager Serena Kelly told Bloomberg the A380s are due in October or November.Source; routenes, Piers Evans
