When going through the list of persons (and events, aircraft, engines) mentioned under the "100 greatest", it occurred to me that so many are missing - even 100 may well be less than a reasonable number to remember all those who deserve our gratitude. I propose to pay a tribute to the countless individuals whose vision, intelligence, skill, craftmanship, perseverance and courage allowed a dream to become reality. Whether they achieved their goal or failed, succeeded or ended up in hardship, are now mentioned in books and museums or are forgotten, I believe they should be remembered - alongside with the current, important matters such as aerospace employment, corporate structure, subsidies, "juste retour" etc, that would not ever have materialized without them. Many cannot be included in the list: let us play for them a different tune than the sound of silence.
